Desenvolvimento Econômico no Amapá: uma análise sobre o agronegócio no período de 2012 a 2016

Abstract

The objective of this dissertation is to analyze the challenges and prospects for the expansion of agribusiness from the production of soybeans in the State of Amapá. Thus, in order to achieve the objective, it was based on a bibliographical review of the theoretical foundations of economic development. A contextualization of agribusiness in Brazil and in Amapá and its economic transformations was also carried out. To confront theory with practice, we opted for an explanatory-descriptive study, a qualitative approach with field research procedures. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews with three representatives of Soy production in Amapá, namely: Agência de Desenvolvimento Econômico do Estado do Amapá – Agência Amapá, Associação de Produtores de Soja e Milho do Amapá – Aprosoja a Comissão Pastoral da Terra – From the results obtained, it was verified that the expansion of agribusiness in the Amapá region, especially the production of soybean between 2012 and 2016, contributed considerably to the economic development in the state of Amapá. When it is proposed the survey over the agrobusiness as a strategy of economic development, it is supposed to strengthen an economy where most of its consumed products are supplied by other regions from all over the country. Agribusiness in Amapá is an issue of extreme relevance for the economic development of the State, given the strategic conditions in the world scenario.
